Maintaining Assessment Classes

Maintaining an Assessment Class will need to be done whenever a student switches roll classes, but there are also a few other occasions when maintaining a student's Assessment Class will be necessary.

If your school has composite classes, any new students added to these classes will be placed in the composite Assessment Class. If the school splits the composite classes into two separate classes for assessment purposes, any new students will need to be moved from the composite class to the separate single-year class when they are added to ESR Momentum.

To update a student's Assessment Class:

  1. Browse to the Manage Classes page, under the Assessment menu in the Administration Module.

  2. Press the 'Students' button to the right of the Assessment Class the student is currently in.

  3. Select the student you wish to move using the check-box on the left of their name, then select the Assessment Class you wish to move the student to.

The Assessment Class can be selected in the drop-down box at the bottom of the page.

  4. Press the 'Move' button at the bottom of the page.

Maintaining Class Teachers

Teachers need to be assigned to a class before they can input attendance or assessment marks. You can assign a teacher to multiple classes, and each class can have multiple teachers assigned to it.

To assign a teacher to a class:

  1. Browse to the Manage Classes page, under the Assessment or Attendance menus in the Administration Module.

  2. Press the Teachers button to the right of the Assessment or Roll Class you wish to assign teachers to.

  3. To add a class teacher, begin to type the teacher's name in the 'Class Teachers' box.

A search box will show you all matching names, and you can select the correct teacher from this box.

  4. Once you have entered the names of all the teachers you wish to add, press the 'Save' button.

Class Teachers: will show up on the students' report as a teacher

Class Access: allows users to view and modify assessment or attendance, but does not list them as a Class Teacher on the report

  • Please note that Executives and Admins can view and edit all classes by default

You can also grant teachers Class Access in the Manage Teachers page - simply type their name into the Class Access box instead.
